The Darwin
Museum's exhibition "A Big Portrait for a Small Company" was held at
the Anji Branch of the Zhejiang Natural History Museum in China from November
28, 2023 to March 1, 2024.
The photo
exhibition featured 60 works by photographer Pyotr Bogomazov, an employee of
the Darwin Museum. Through in-depth research into the ecological habits and
characteristics of insects, our colleagues from the Zhejiang Museum carefully
thought through the content and form of the exhibition. Thus, the exhibition
presented insects in various aspects: their diversity, lifestyle, relationship
between insects and the environment, as well as the beauty of their appearance
and even the depiction of insects in art.
Each themed
area featured screens that allowed viewers to explore the world of insects through
self-paced quizzes, videos and detailed illustrations.
The
exhibition was a success: during this time it attracted approximately 150,000
visitors, including students, parents, teachers and other social groups. As
part of it, our colleagues from China held a lecture with more than 200
participants and 82 events for parents and children. In their reviews, many
visitors highly appreciated the content and form of the exhibition, noting its
richness, diversity, novelty and uniqueness.
The
"Big Portrait for a Small Company" exhibition not only enriched
visitors' knowledge of insects, but also raised public awareness of
environmental conservation.
